KCL Tennis: Disability History Month Event at The Queen’s Club
Join us on Friday, 29th November from 7:30-9:30pm, as KCL Tennis, in partnership with our charity partner, The Queen's Club Foundation, proudly presents our second annual Disability History Month Event. This event is part of KCLSU’s Disability History Month and will take place at one of the world's most iconic tennis venues, The Queen's Club.
We will offer a free interactive, and engaging 2-hour on-court workshops that focus on wheelchair tennis, visually impaired (VI) tennis, and other forms of inclusive tennis. The goal of these workshops is to equip attendees with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make inclusive adaptations—both on and off the court—so that everyone at KCL can enjoy a more accessible university experience through tennis.
Our aim is to provide student leaders with the tools and opportunities to challenge existing barriers in sports and create an environment that aligns with our ‘inclusive by design’ vision and the theme of ‘Disability, Childhood, and Youth’. We especially hope to reach students who identify as disabled, ensuring they feel welcome in all aspects of our tennis community.
Workshop Facilitator: Mark Bullock
This event will be delivered by Mark Bullock, a globally renowned expert in inclusive tennis with over 30 years of experience. Mark has previously served as Great Britain’s National Wheelchair Tennis Coach and was the International Tennis Federation's Global Wheelchair Tennis Manager. Now an internationally recognised coach educator, he works with leading organisations such as Wimbledon and the All England Lawn Tennis Club, Bright Ideas for Tennis, and the Lawn Tennis Association. For one night only, Mark will be sharing his expertise with KCL Tennis!
Mark specialises in training coaches, teachers, volunteers, and young people to make their tennis practices more inclusive. This is a unique opportunity to learn from one of the best in the field at one of the world's most prestigious tennis clubs. He has recently been awarded LTA Coach of the Year for the whole of Great Britain; UNIQLO Spirit Award and ITF Brad Parks Award for services to inclusive tennis.
