Overview
Want a say in how KCLSU supports and funds student groups? Nominations are opening soon for the Funding and Ratification (FAR) Committee – and we’d love to see you get involved.
What is FAR all about?
The FAR committee are the decision-makers on democratic funding and new student group ratification.
FAR is a group of elected community leaders who make important decisions about how KCLSU funding streams get allocated and decide on the ratification of new group applications.
If elected, you will have the opportunity to ratify new groups into KCLSU and allocate funds across a range of KCLSU funding streams available to student groups including: the Student Group Development Fund, Competitions and Conferences Fund, Welcome Events Fund, Accessibility Fund, Volunteer Projects and many more.
In order to have your nomination approved, you must have attended the FAR session at the Community Leaders Training in person days in May/June OR ATTEND THIS BRIEFING SESSION, so make sure you get your ticket now!
There are nine seats available, with places set aside to make sure we hear from a wide range of voices across our community, including:
- Activity Groups
- Media Groups
- KCL Sports Clubs
- Postgraduate Students
- Black Students
- LGBTQ+ Students
- Women Students
- DIsabled Students
If you’re a community leader of a ratified KCLSU student group for 2025–26, you’re eligible to stand and vote.
