Grace Brimacombe-Rand is a PhD researcher in the English department at KCL, whose research explore how contemporary authors push genre and literary form to overcome the historic silencing of women's embodied experience. Her research also uses creative practice through poetry to create with the body. This poetry workshop will engage with a few contemporary texts and touch on some theoretical perspectives from Medical Humanities, Feminist and Disability Theory to introduce creative methods to write with the body. The workshop will allow students to try out a range of approaches to writing, such as writing poetry with art, creating collaborative writing and some other techniques to just get started.

This session might be of particular interest to KCL Medical students, students interested in creative health research or creative writing, and is especially welcome to students looking to experiment with writing for the first time!
