Interested in climate justice, ethical careers or making change at King’s?
Join the Fossil Free Careers campaign for an interactive introductory workshop followed by a relaxed social with free food.
Fossil Free Careers is a KCLSU-ratified, student-led campaign calling on King’s to end fossil-fuel industry recruitment, promotion and partnerships through its careers services and to support students in pursuing sustainable and socially responsible careers instead.
Delivered alongside people & Planet (the UK's largest student campaigning network), we will explore:
- What the Fossil Free Careers campaign is and why it matters
- How fossil-fuel companies use university recruitment to maintain their influence
- What the campaign has achieved so far at King’s
- Our plans and opportunities to get involved this year
- How students can work together to influence university decision-making
The session is also a great opportunity to build practical and transferable skills in campaigning, communication, teamwork, community organising and leadership - all of which can strengthen your CV and support your future career.
You can also network with your VP Welfare & Community, Adithi, who is officially endorsing this campaign!
The first 90 minutes will be an interactive workshop, followed by an informal social where you can meet other students, share ideas and enjoy free food and drinks.
Whether you want to become a campaign organiser, contribute to occasional actions or simply learn more, everyone is welcome.
You do not need any previous campaigning experience or knowledge so just bring your ideas and enthusiasm!
