Ever fancied yourself a handball pro? Why not join us and see what the sport (and the club) are like on the 27th of September! We’re welcoming both experienced players and absolute beginners to the session, so come along whether you’re trying to decide if you still want to play handball while you’re at King’s, or deciding whether you want to play handball at all. We’ll spend the first half of the session going through some drills, before moving onto explaining the different positions and playing a match in the second hour. 

What is handball you may ask? Well, it’s a bit like if football and basketball combined into one, sometimes chaotic but always fun mega sport. There are 6 outfield players on each team and one goalkeeper, with goals being scored by throwing the ball into the other team’s goal. It can be incredibly fast paced, our record for the most goals scored in a 60 minute match across both teams is 56! 

The session will start at 2, so please make sure you arrive a little bit before that if you need to get changed at Leyton (there are changing rooms). If you have them, please wear non-marking trainers (for the purposes of Leyton, this means trainers that don’t have a black sole). Please remember to bring a water bottle and as handball is a contact sport, you cannot wear jewelry while playing. The nearest tube station is Leyton (on the central line) which is about a 10-15 minute walk to the sports centre.
