We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race.
Welcome to the 2025/26 King’s Poetry Society!
We believe poetry is one of the most intricate and beautiful forms of self-expression—and it should be accessible to everyone. This year, we’re expanding our reach across King’s with more collaborative events, open mic nights, workshops, and cosy meetups. Whether you’re based at Strand, Guy’s, Waterloo, Denmark Hill, or beyond, there’s a space for you here.
Our community is wonderfully diverse, bringing together not just lovers of literature and the arts, but also medics, scientists, and lawyers—all united by a shared passion for reading and writing poetry.
We’ll be sharing monthly newsletters throughout the year, culminating in our annual journal, The King’s Poet. Membership remains at a minimal fee to ensure everyone can join and enjoy our events.
We can’t wait to welcome you!
