The Womxn in Physics Society at King’s College London is a vibrant, passionate community dedicated to uplifting and empowering under-represented voices in physics. Our mission is to champion progress, strengthen representation, and create meaningful pathways for students from minority backgrounds to thrive within the scientific world.
We bring together an extensive network of inspiring academics, industry professionals, and fellow students to spark collaboration, mentorship, and personal growth. Through thought-provoking talks, supportive social events, and opportunities for professional development, we strive to build a more equitable future in physics—one where every voice is heard and every ambition is encouraged.
We also proudly collaborate with the Institute of Physics (IOP), hosting inspiring lectures led by the fantastic professors of the King’s physics department. Thanks to our generous business sponsors, we’re able to provide high-quality study resources and opportunities that we share directly with our members.
The primary aim of the KCL Womxn in Physics (KCL WiP) Society is to create a safe space where womxn and non binary people are able to share their experiences, express their opinions and receive support and encouragement from like-minded peers without the fear (and reality) of being undermined, undervalued, and invalidated.
