We are KCL’s first Disabled Student's Society, started by and run for disabled students at King’s. Our aim is to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for disabled students to get to know each other and get support. Everyone is welcome regardless of condition or disability (chronic illness, mental health condition, physical disability, learning disability, etc.).

A disability is defined as ‘a condition which, without adjustments and supportive environments, can result in limitations or disadvantages in some way’. It doesn’t matter if that condition affects every single aspect of your life, or if it barely at all, everyone is welcome.

Having any kind of disability or illness is difficult and can be very isolating. Our aim is to create a safe space where fellow members of the community can come together and feel heard and supported. Everyone needs friends who understand each other and do not judge, but there weren't any societies for disabled students that provided that, until us!

We aim to be inclusive of everyone and make every event and meeting accessible to all.  If you have any questions or suggestions on our access provisions, please let us know! We will always aim to be as accessible as possible though and provide access statements for our events, so you know whether or not you need to ask for anything.

Please do come along to one of our meetings (or just sign up to our newsletter to stay updated about what we’re doing), find more information on our socials or send us an email at KCLDisabledSociety@outlook.com! We hope to meet you soon.
