About Us

Established in 1894, King’s College London Dental Society has celebrated a tradition in excellence for over 130 years and has a huge level of influence, with over 1000 students & faculty members in the Dental Institute. We host some of the world’s finest dental academics as well as members of the dental industry, with whom we have great long-term partnerships year after year.

Memberships

We offer two tiers of membership designed to suit different student groups.

• Dental Society Standard Membership (Free) - available to students currently enrolled on the BDS or DTH Dental Course at King’s College London.
• Dental Society Associate Membership (£10) - available to individuals who are not currently enrolled on a BDS or DTH students at KCL but wish to engage with the Dental Society.

1. Standard Membership (Free)

A valid Standard Membership is required to:

• Attend our academic events including lectures, hands-on workshops, conferences etc

• Attend our social events such as the Boat Party, Pulp Crawl, and T-Shirt Party etc

• Vote in our upcoming society elections

• Stay updated with the latest society news, career opportunities, and announcements

2. Associate Membership (£10)

This membership is open to:

• Dental students at other UK or International universities

• Recent graduates, including KCL alumni and graduates from other institutions

• Students from other faculties at King’s (e.g. Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Global Health)

• Students from other universities with a keen interest in Dentistry or Dental Hygiene and Therapy

Benefits include:

• Access to selected KCL Dental Society academic events, socials, and professional development sessions

• The ability to book tickets for external talks, workshops, and networking opportunities (subject to event capacity)

• Occasional collaboration and volunteering opportunities where available

Event Ticket Pricing

While Standard Membership is free, please note that tickets for individual events are sold separately. We operate a tiered release system to give you the best value:

Early Bird → First Release → Second Release → Final Release

Prices will increase with each release, so we strongly recommend securing your tickets as early as possible to avoid disappointment and get the best price!

Important Membership Policy

If we identify that a non-KCL Dental student has incorrectly obtained a free Standard Membership, their membership will be cancelled without notice and any event bookings made under an invalid membership will also be cancelled and become void. Refunds will not be issued for cancelled memberships or related event tickets in cases of a policy breach. Please ensure you purchase the correct membership category.
