KCL First Gen Doctors (FGD) Society is a supportive community for medical students who are the first in their families to pursue a career in Medicine. Our aim is to create a inclusive space where students can connect, share experiences, and empower one another to thrive throughout medical school.
We host a range of events throughout the year, including exciting socials, academic and career-focused events and wellbeing initiatives. These events have been put together to help you navigate the hidden curriculum, build confidence and to meet others who understand the unique journey of being a first-generation medical student.
Additionally, we are proud to be affiliated with the international organisation First Gen Doctors, who support first-generation and widening participation (WP) medical applicants, students and doctors through mentorship, advocacy and community-building.
