The King's Union is the premier society at King's and the focal point for society life. The Union's flagship event remains its weekly public debates, released in its autumn and spring term cards, where student speakers debate alongside politicians, think-tank intellectuals, academics and media figures in front of a live audience.
Besides debates, the Union regularly hosts high-profile speaker events and interviews, networking evenings and a variety of socials.
The Union recently launched its accelerated hiring programme, the Freshers Fast Stream, allowing both incoming and existing students to apply to a variety of officer roles in the society. The Fast Stream is expected to close on 30th September 2026. The Union's publication, Kingsway, shares regular point-counterpoint pieces, comments and op-eds from members of the community.
