Renowned for celebrating and uniting Asian cultures, ABACUS – the Association of British and Chinese University Students – was founded in 2005 with a mission to bring together students from diverse Asian backgrounds, including Chinese, Malaysian, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, and British-born Chinese.

As the largest Asian society at King’s College London, we take pride in our vibrant community and commitment to excellence. Our society continues to grow each year, offering a welcoming space for students to connect, celebrate culture, and create unforgettable memories.

Throughout the year, we host a wide variety of weekly events, ranging from inter-university collaborations to inter-society socials within KCL. With something for everyone, our events cater to all interests – whether you're here for the food, the fun, or the friendships.

Our clubbing events are truly unforgettable – and often become some of the best memories of university life! From themed parties to exciting nights out, we regularly collaborate with the other 7 London ABACUS societies – Imperial, LSE, UCL, Queen Mary, Goldsmiths, City, and SOAS – bringing together students from across the capital for nights you won’t want to miss.

These events are not only great fun, but also a chance to build lasting friendships, both within KCL and beyond. Many of our members have found their closest friends through ABACUS – and we hope you will too!
