Welcome to Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Women's Football Club!
Whether you’ve spent the last 10 years playing football for your county or you’ve never kicked a ball in your life, our club is for you!
We welcome students from ALL COURSES and all campuses, and with our three COMPETITIVE TEAMS and our fourth RECREATIONAL TEAM, we truly cater to all abilities. The competitive teams have training once a week with qualified coaches helping the team captains and they play league matches twice weekly. The recreational 4s team play once a week with the occasional friendly match and the session is led by GKTWFC student activators.
ABOUT OUR TEAMS :
1st Team: (Competitive Team Membership £50) The 1s consist of more experienced players, consistently performing well in leagues and other tournaments (2025 VARSITY WINNERS). Previous titles they have achieved include United Hospitals Cup, LUSL Premier Division, and Varsity champions 4/5years! The captains, Bex and Sarah, are so excited to welcome new players this season, with the 1s moving up a league this year (hello tier 2), and a fresh varsity win under their belt, this team can’t wait to continue their winning streak alongside their spontaneous beach swims (Brighton pt 2?), wholesome picnics and mafia games at christmas dinner!
2nd Team: (Competitive Team Membership £50) The 2s have developed their team into an explosive force on the pitch, making football the most exciting part of the week. The medicine duo captains, Ammarah and Ilham will help guide you to success (although sometimes to the wrong pitch), making you a part of the 2s team and family. Not only does this team boast the best post-match scran, but the best mid-match snack too (snickerdoodles)!. This family are excited to develop on and off the pitch, with their new 2s kit ready to show off in style (THANK YOU JANE)!
3rd Team: (Competitive Team Membership £50) The 3s determination has seen them make fantastic strides over the last few years, facing tough teams in both leagues. The team has a range of players with many beginners, but the commitment and passion for football is driven forwards by the amazing friendships formed in the 3s. Regardless of whether you’ve played much football before, Anavi the captain will be sure to keep you in safe hands (OUR KEEPER) and Liv the vice cap will help you reach new heights on the pitch (tall Liv), alongside experiencing the highs and lows of University women’s football at the finest football club in the world!
4th Recs Team: (Recreational Membership £35 = GKTWFC Rec £15 + BeActive £20) Our social team is perfect for those wanting to play football more casually, whether you want to try something new or if you just love kicking a ball around with some friends. You can join the 4s Recs at any point in the season, no trials needed. It may be the low commitment option of GKTWFC but the 4s Recreational Activators, Anna and Sara lead such a fun session you're sure to be coming back every week! The 4s friendly matches last year were such a success, we're looking forward to organising more this season to give a taster of real match play in a relaxed environment.
The GKTWFC Recs session is in partnership with King's Sport BeActive and our recreational members will have access to the entire BeActive Timetable (not just football!) which offers a range of different sports and operates on a sign-up turn-up basis. The BeActive Timetable usually costs £30 for the year, however for GKTWFC members BeActive costs £20 for the year! Proper nice, proper bargain!
Social Member: (GKTWFC £15 Membership) We encourage everyone to have a go at playing football no matter your ability but if you want to get swept up in the fun of GKTWFC without actually playing any football then it is possible to join as a Social Member!! Perhaps you love watching the beautiful game and want to join us on a stadium trip to see the Lionesses play. Perhaps you love talking about football and want a group chat to send football memes. Perhaps you've seen one of our Thursday socials on Campus or seen us owning the dance floor at Guy's Bar. Whatever your reason, if you want another supportive and fun community of friends to help you have the best time at university then you can join GKTWFC as a social member and enjoy all that we offer beyond football!
