Introduction to KCL Pole:
We are so excited that you are thinking of joining KCL Pole! We are a club that welcomes students from all levels – right from complete beginner to advanced performers. There is no previous experience necessary, just come along and have fun :)

Memberships we offer:
- Standard Membership – For those currently studying at KCL
- Associate Membership – For any non-KCL members who want to join!
- Half-Year Standard Membership – For KCL students who are joining from Semester 2 or later!
- BeActive Sports Team Membership:
This top-up allows sports clubs to use these sessions as extra training throughout the week, and it gives members the opportunity to attend other sessions available on our weekly timetable.
Student membership is £35 for the academic year, but with this top-up, you can access it at a discounted rate of £20.
To activate your BeActive account, you will pay for the BeActive Sports Team Membership Top-Up through your sports club website. Your club will be responsible for activating your BeActive Sports Team Membership account. Once activated, you can book BeActive sessions.
Our weekly social sport and physical activity programme is available to all students and we look forward to seeing you there!
Memberships are SEPARATE to any classes MUST be purchased before buying any class products. You WILL NOT be allowed to attend a class if you have not purchased a membership.
What’s included in a membership:
- A wide range of socials – from crazy nights out to other non-drinking activities! Sports nights, dinner socials, indoor climbing etc.
- Trips - Summer tour and other short trips for competitions or pole shows
- Competitions - We take part in a variety of London-wide competitions and with a membership you can take part! We boost a successful competition history from National Champions, 2x Regional Champions, to 4x KCL vs UCL Varsity Champions!
- Showcases - We have a range of showcases from small-scale club-only ones to help our members boost confidence, to large-scale charity showcases, giving you plenty of opportunities to showcase your routines no matter your level!
- Access to open pole practice 3x a week – A chance for you to practice all the moves you’ve learnt in class!
- Acess to purchasing other classes – a membership is essential.
- Workshops - alongside classes, we also occasionally put on workshops like aerial hoop, silks, heels and hand-balancing classes at a discounted price (we sell them for £12-18 but they usually cost ~£45 per class in London)!
Types of classes we offer:
- Weekly Pole classes at our very own Studio on Waterloo Campus or an external studio - Complete beginner to advanced at a heavily discounted price (we sell them for £12 per class but they usually cost ~£21 per class in London)!
- Open Pole Sessions - Free sessions included on the membership to practice, try out pole moves and hang with all the great people here at KCL Pole!
- Strength & flex classes – Strength and flexibility training to greatly improve your pole skills, suitable for people of all levels.
- Heels – a weekly choreography class suitable for people of all levels. Wear pole heels if you have them – if not, socks are fine!
Class levels:
PLEASE READ THESE LEVEL PREREQUISITES BEFORE BOOKING A CLASS. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.
Beginner 1: Suitable for those who have never taken a pole class before, or have only taken a few.
Beginner 2: Suitable for those who are close to mastering beginner moves like spins, forearm climb, fan kicks. Working towards inverting.
Lower Intermediate: Ability to invert is a requirement. These classes will work on inverted moves including leg hangs and cross-knee releases, as well as more challenging transitions and spins. Also for those with strong leg hangs who have already spent time mastering intermediate moves, but who need a refresher or are not quite ready for the higher moves and transitions.
Upper Intermediate / Advanced: Aerial inverts are a requirement. This class is for those who have a strong extended butterfly/inverted D, and are ready to work on handsprings, ayesha variations, and other advanced moves and transitions.
Strength & Flex: No experience needed! Work on your flexibility and learn how to build strength for on-the-pole moves.
BeActive: No experience needed! Classes are more choreo based including beginner level tricks!
Heels: No experience needed! A choreography class which focuses on correct heels technique and different heel transitions.

Classes/bundle information:
Prices for bundles usually include 5 weekly classes each. They are sold on a first-come-first-served basis. Unfortunately, we DON’T refund class purchases.
Bundles are for specific days and times – they cannot be carried over. If you can’t attend, please sell them on the WhatsApp Groupchat.
One-off classes are available in the description in our members-only WhatsApp group chat at a slightly higher price than the price per class of our bundles.
The current set of bundles are for the W/C 4th November to W/C 2nd December.
Single class passes
We now offer single class passes. Please purchase the relevant pass (£15 for members and £20 for non members) and then book your class slot via our bookwhen: https://bookwhen.com/kclpolefitness
If you do not book a space then you will not be allowed to attend the class, even if you have purchased a pass - and vice versa!
