£13.15 per hour plus 12.07% holiday pay which equates to £14.73 for every hour worked.

Details

The Communications Assistant will work within the Communications Team to assist in a range of administrative tasks including monitoring the marketing inbox and responding to enquiries; updating the website and promoting content on our social media sites; assisting the communications team with projects and events as well as general office administration.

The post holder will work primarily within the Communications, Marketing and Data Directorate but may also work with other KCLSU staff.  

Key responsibilities:

Admin

  • Managing a shared inbox and dealing with queries from students and student groups.

  • Advising students and groups on promotional opportunities for their initiatives.

  • Dealing with external queries from businesses and organisations – filtering out irrelevant ones and spotting business development opportunities.

  • Processing online forms and uploading events/tickets onto KCLSU's website in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Uploading societies' digital screens to content management systems and removing outdated ones, ensuring all screens meet KCLSU guidance.

  • Helping students with queries relating to marketing and communications – or directing them appropriately.

Internal

  • Assisting the Communications Officers in their day-to-day work – helping to deliver various campaigns.

  • Assisting other KCLSU departments with their communication and marketing needs.

Creative

  • Writing engaging blog posts and articles for the KCLSU website, highlighting different campaigns and events.

  • Ensuring blog posts align with the social media strategy.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this role you must:

  • Be a current undergraduate or postgraduate student of King's College London.
  • Be eligible to work in the UK, and provide proof of this (i.e. a passport/visa) when asked by KCLSU.
  • Have a National Insurance number, or be in the process of applying for one.
  • Not be a trustee of King’s College London Students’ Union. Trustees should not apply for a role whilst in their term of office, or should their application be accepted or progressed to the interview stage.
  • Ex-Trustees can apply for student staff (non-administrative) roles, as soon as they finish their tenure.
  • Ex-Trustees can apply for career staff / permanent staff roles, only after a year has passed of them being a trustee. Applications submitted within the year should not be accepted or progressed to the interview stage.
