Introducing the 2024-2025 King’s College London Students’ Union (KCLSU) Officers 

Every year, our team of Full-Time Officers are elected by you to represent KCLSU, voice your concerns and bring improvements to the student experience. Here's your chance to get to know them! 

 

Vice-President Activities & Development: Virajit Singh  

 

What does the Vice President Activities & Development do? 

• Improves the experience for all our sports clubs and activity groups 

• Works closely with our clubs and society committees 

• Partners with the Activities Union Development Committee and the Sports Union Development Committee - a panel dedicated to sport development.  

• Attends several KCL and KCLSU committee meetings, including the KCLSU Trustee Board, helping to make decisions which benefit and impact the study body. 

 

Virajit, a former Student Trustee, is committed to fostering a more connected and inclusive KCL community. For the 2024-2025 academic year, he plans to revive the Cultural Ball, introduce community fridges to tackle food insecurity and host monthly town halls to support open dialogue. He also wants to ensure fair funding for societies and promote transparency at KCLSU by sharing decisions on social media. 

 

Vice-President Education (Arts & Sciences): Madeeha Saher 

 

What does the Vice President Education (Arts & Sciences) do? 

• Represents the views and educational experience of students in the Arts & Sciences faculties 

• Attends KCLSU and University committee meetings, including the KCL Academic Board Committee, contributing to decisions which directly impact Arts & Sciences students. 

• Works closely with our other KCLSU Community Leads, including Academic Associations and Academic Reps, to bring about positive change for students. 

 

Madeeha, a 4th-year Politics, Philosophy, and Law student, wants to promote educational accessibility, consistency, and inclusivity. Her goals for this year include expanding module options, increasing study spaces and establishing a laptop bursary. She also advocates for fairer assessment practices, academic inclusivity and cultural sensitivity training. 

 

Vice-President Education (Health): Julia Kosowska 

 

What does the Vice President Education (Health) do? 

• Attends a lot of KCLSU and University committees including the KCL Academic Board Committee 

• Puts forward the views and opinions of your fellow Health students 

• Improves the learning and teaching experience 

 

Julia, a 4th-year MSci Neuroscience student and former KCLSU Full-Time Officer, wants to increase student support and address cost-of-living challenges. For 2024-2025, she'll be working to build on previous initiatives and empower students to shape their academic experience. 

  

Vice-President Welfare & Community: Haneen Farid (H.F.) 

 

What does a Welfare & Community Vice President do? 

• Acts as the lead Officer for the development of student wellbeing and under-represented student communities 

• Works on the development of student wellbeing and lead in all equality, diversity, and liberation campaigns 

• Attends several KCL and KCLSU committees which includes the KCLSU Trustee Board 

 

Haneen Farid (H.F), a third-year Politics student, is dedicated to student well-being. Her priorities include launching mental health campaigns for BAME and overseas students, advocating for affordable on-campus meals, increasing student housing options and introducing female-only gym hours. She is also committed to transparency and increasing the number of study spaces across campuses. 

 

Vice-President Postgraduate: Sheeba Naaz 

 

What does the Vice President for Postgraduate do? 

• Acts as the lead Officer for the development of postgraduate student life  

• Works closely with the other Vice Presidents in ensuring that postgrad voices are heard and considered during decision-making 

• Attends several KCL and KCLSU committee meetings, including the KCLSU Trustee Board, to advocate for postgraduate interests.  

 

Sheeba is pursuing a master’s degree in Terrorism, Security and Society. This year she wants to decolonise the curriculum at King’s, create an inclusive exam schedule and encourage interfaith understanding. She also aims improve career support, advocate for flexible tuition payments and cap fees for returning students. Sheeba is dedicated to making postgraduate life at King’s more inclusive and manageable.
