Updates on KCLSU’s Articles of Association
On Thursday 13 February, KCLSU hosted the Company Members’ Meeting, inviting all student members to attend and hear about the proposed changes to KCLSU’s Articles of Association.
The Articles as they stood didn’t meet the changing needs of the organisation or the membership, so changes were proposed to modernise KCLSU and give more power back to the students.
At the Company Members’ Meeting, chaired by our Vice President Postgraduate, Sheeba Naaz, elected Trustees detailed the suggested amendments to the Articles and attending students had the opportunity to discuss them and raise questions. A vote was then opened to all members for 48 hours and we’re pleased to announce that you voted for change!

Now that the amendments have passed resolution, an updated copy of the Articles of Association will be submitted to the Charity Commission and the University. King’s have indicated support for this change in our Articles of Association, which is positive in enabling long term stability for KCLSU to provide a fantastic range of activities for students. The final approval for the Articles will be at King’s Council, which is the Governing body of King’s.
A big thank you goes out to all the students who cast their votes – you’ll have more opportunities to vote in the upcoming KCLSU Elections! Check out our web article for key dates.
