April in London - A Guide to Recharge and Enjoy the City

With deadlines approaching, it's vital to take breaks and recharge for studying. Whether alone or with friends, London offers great options for fun and relaxation, so we have compiled some great things going on for the rest of April! 

The London Marathon – 21 April 

If you are seeking some motivation, what better thing to do than watch the runners from the sidelines at the London Marathon? There are 50,000 runners who could do with your support on Sunday 21 April! 

Now Play This – Somerset House – Until 14 April  

Take a break from the library and delve into the newest experimental games from around the globe at Somerset House. Whether you're into classic 8-bit challenges or new releases, the festival offers a chance to engage with innovative games inspired by our world. Celebrating its 10th edition, this year's event will spotlight games centered around a specific theme: 'Liminal: Playing Between Worlds'. 

Brick Lane Jazz Festival – 26-28 April 

Spread across ten venues including Rich Mix, Rough Trade East, and the Village Underground, the Brick Lane Jazz Festival is in its initial stages but exemplifies the vibrancy of our city's musicians. What's more, the event is partnering with Tomorrow's Warriors, the groundbreaking talent programme behind the achievements of artists such as Moses Boyd and Ezra Collective. 

Brew LDN Beer Festival – 24-27 April 

BrewLDN, located on the Southbank this year, will feature a variety of craft brewers from across the UK and beyond. Among the lineup are popular London breweries such as Toast Brewing, Renegade Brewery, Jiddler’s Tipple, Moot Brew Co, Flowerhorn Brewery, and SXOLLIE. Alongside the brews, there'll be plenty of street food options to complement your pints, with DJs providing tunes throughout the event.  

Classic Car Boot Sale at Granary Square – 26-27 April 

Granary Square and Coal Drops Yard at King’s Cross are getting ready to host a collection of rare classic vehicles, where vendors will be offering vintage fashion, homewares, and collectibles. Mobile food vendors will be scattered among the old-school cars and campervans, while DJs will be spinning vintage vinyl to entertain you! 

Earthfest – 18-21 April 

In anticipation of Earth Day, which falls on April 22, the non-profit organisation Camden Clear Air Initiative has arranged the inaugural Earthfest. Scheduled over the weekend before, the event comprises talks, workshops, and immersive exhibitions, aiming to address the urgent climate issue in an engaging and interactive manner. A fashion zone will showcase sustainable brands and upcycled creations, alongside expert talks at the Future of Greentech summit. While April 18 is invite-only and April 19 is reserved for industry professionals, all events on April 20 and 21 are open to the public free of charge!
