There are so many study spots in London it would take years to try them all. While the King’s libraries are very popular among students, try some of these spaces as well and see where you most enjoy getting work done! (Many of them are also very Instagrammable.)

The round reading room at the Maughan Library

King’s has multiple libraries across the campuses, but you definitely won’t want to miss studying in the round reading room at least once. It’s been featured in films and is one of the grandest spots at the university. It’s popular, so get there early! All King’s students can access the Maughan using their Student ID card.

Senate House Library

A popular spot among King’s students, you can get access to Senate House by signing up for a free membership. It’s located in Bloomsbury, so it’s perfect for a day spent studying and exploring local museums and coffee shops.

The British Library
 
Anyone can get a free pass to the British Library—and it’s a good place to access books you might want to use for coursework, as well. It's one of the biggest libraries in the world, so you'll definitely find a good spot to study somewhere!

Southbank Centre

Located just across the river from the Strand campus, the Southbank Centre has lots of free, public spaces to get work done. The Poetry Library on the fifth floor has great quiet spots, but the whole area is worth exploring. It also features impressive views of the Thames!

Foyles Cafe

Foyles is a large bookstore on Charing Cross Road, and their cafe is a great spot to get some work done while enjoying tea and pastries. It’s open until 8pm most days. Lots of other bookstores around central London like Waterstones also have cafes which are worth a try.

The Barbican

The Barbican is an iconic estate in the City of London, famous for its brutalist architecture. Regardless of your thoughts on brutalism, the Barbican Library is free and has lots of spots specifically for quiet studying. You can also visit the Barbican Conservatory after a long day of productivity!
