King’s has completed construction of a new Dharmic Prayer room in Guy’s campus, following an officer campaign led by former KCLSU Activities and Development Vice President (2019/20) and current King’s student, Nakul Patwa.
The Dharmic Prayer Room is open for all Hindu, Jain, Sikh, and Buddhist students and staff at King’s College London, and will be ready for use at Guy’s Campus when the government guidelines allow for its use. Nakul, who identified the need for the prayer room while talking to other students and societies, said:
“I pioneered this project during my role as the Vice President at KCLSU in 2019-20, with the support of KCL Estates and Facilities and the Dean’s Office. This is a milestone in the history of KCL and all UK universities as no other UK university currently has a dedicated space of this sort.
I believe this success will help add more value to KCL Vision 2029 and diversity and inclusion, becoming a model for all the universities across the United Kingdom for years to come.”
