Whether you’re looking for a quiet spot to study, a lively hub to meet friends, or a room to collaborate on your next big idea, KCLSU offers a variety of spaces to suit your needs.

In this article, we’ll show you where you can work, relax, get support, hang out with friends, and make the most of your student experience.

KCLSU Venues

Whether you need a morning caffeine fix, a bite between lectures, a place to unwind after a busy day, or a quick merch run, KCLSU has you covered.

The Cafés

KCLSU currently runs two cafés at Strand Campus and Guy’s Campus.

You can find The Shack on the ground floor of Bush House’s South East Wing – our popular metropolitan grab-and-go café, home to a huge range of hot drinks and snacks, including gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options.

The Bars

For every KCLSU Café, there’s also a KCLSU Bar!

Strand Campus is home to The Vault – our newest student bar, restaurant and night club. You can find The Vault on Floor -1 at Bush House South East Wing, just downstairs from The Shack.

The Vault features an international menu, wonderfully cooked by our in-house chefs, with a wide range of vegetarian, vegan and halal options. Throughout the week, you can take advantage of daily food deals and various events, including our Quiz Night, Jackpot; our gaming night, Versus; and the legendary Wednesday Sports Night!

As the name suggests, Guy’s Bar is located on Guy’s Campus, just below Guy’s Café in the East Wing, Colonnades. Guy’s Bar has been fabled since 1882 – home of the GKT Sports teams and the regular bar for medical students studying at GKT.

Guy’s Bar features a classic menu, with burgers, loaded fries and pizza available – you can also enjoy weekly specials and gluten-free options if needed. There’s always something fun happening at Guy’s Bar, including Bingo, Sports Nights, and live performances by the ever-popular Ladbroke Groove!

The Shop

There’s only one place in town to get all your official King’s merchandise – The Union Shop!

Located in the Bush House Arcade on the Strand Campus, The Union Shop has everything you need to show your King’s Pride! From hoodies to t-shirts, to bucket hats and teddy bears, we’ve got everything you need created with the King’s logos and branding. The Union Shop regularly runs sales, including Black Friday sales, and stock exclusive, limited edition items around special occasions, such as Graduations.

Not usually on Strand Campus? The Union Shop is online too – fill your basket at https://kclsushop.com/.

KCLSU Hubs

KCSLU Hubs are like reception desks —your go-to place for information, support, and guidance on all things KCLSU. At each Hub, you’ll find a Hubbie, our wonderful student-staff team members ready to help you with any questions or concerns you might have during your time at King’s.

Meetings & Activity Rooms

Meeting and Activity Rooms are spaces provided by KCLSU for Societies and Student Groups. You need to be a Committee Member of a KCLSU Student Group to be able to book rooms, and you can only do so once you’ve submitted an Approved Core Risk Assessment, you’ve signed the 25/26 Room Usage Agreement and requested a Skedda account. Skedda is our booking platform, so if you don’t have a login, you can’t book!

Activity Rooms are kitted for a wide range of happenings and events. Take The Studio for example – it can be used as a cinema, a dance studio, an exhibition space, and much more. We’ve installed a projector, which is great for film screenings, as well as wall-to-wall mirrors and spring flooring, perfect for dance/martial arts, or other sports and wellness activities.

Study & Chill Spaces

While there’s a fair amount of study spaces across King’s Campuses, we’re a little biased and we’d always recommend hanging out in one of our Venues!

The Shack & Guy’s Café

There’s lots of tables and chairs at The Shack and Guy’s Café, plus a few squishy couches if you want to get comfy! We love our menus, but you don’t have to buy any food or drink to use the spaces – just bear in mind that they are popular, so sometimes finding a spot is hard! Don’t forget to explore all the corners – we regularly have ping pong tables set up in The Shack (by The Studio) and downstairs from Guy’s Café in Guy’s Bar!

The Pavilion – Bush House Courtyard

Our renovated Pavilion reopened in October 2025. It’s an ideal place for you to relax, catch up on work, brainstorm together or host group activities (booking may be required). It’s easy to find – just look out for the glass building in the Bush House Courtyard!

Our newest Hub space in the King’s Building is just across from the KCLSU Offices and KCLSU Advice Team. If you’re coming in for an Advice appointment, or to speak to a Hubbie, take a seat and relax while you wait.

Over on Denmark Hill, our KCLSU space is kitted with booths, tables and plenty of plugs to charge your laptops when you’re putting in the study hours. Avid gamer? Denmark Hill's space also has a TV for you to plug in your games console and play with friends!
