2025--26: What's happened so far?
With another academic year soon ending, we at KCLSU are taking the time to look back on everything that has happened (and is still happening!). Like every year, we carry out a survey to hear from you. This will help us make better informed decisions on what we can improve, add and keep!
As always March is incredibly busy, so we would just like to jog your memory on what KCLSU has been up to this year and a few questions you could ask yourself before you take the survey. From how we ran Elections to our Wellbeing initiatives, we want to know if this Union is serving you as it should be!
Community Building & Student Life
KCLSU strives to foster community amongst students in everything we do. Starting from the very beginning at Welcome Week to hosting whole-university affairs like Varsity, we are interested in learning:
- How big of a role did KCLSU initiatives play in how you connected with other students this year?
- Did you feel KCLSU initiatives were relevant to your needs as a student?
Student Groups
Student Groups play an essential role in shaping life at King’s. Whether you stepped up to take on a leadership role within a student group this year or joined as a member, we want know:
- Do the current student groups meet your interests?
- How well have committee leaders helped to foster a positive environment?
- Has KCLSU made it easy to run a student group?
Making a Change
From launching the Student AI Manifesto, fixing King’s incident reporting and support systems, to supporting countless student-led fundraisers and volunteering projects, KCLSU has supported campaigns for change throughout the year. So, whether you’ve participated in a project, signed petitions, completed surveys or simply witnessed these campaigns roll out you could start thinking about:
- If these campaigns have been relevant to you or the people around you?
- If you felt they brought tangible and effective change?
Elections
This year’s Elections saw the biggest voter turnout yet! Whether you ran for a position, supported a campaign or casted your vote, we would love to know your thoughts on the process.
- If you ran: how informed were you about the process?
- If you voted: were you able to make a well-informed decision?
Leadership
We aim to give students opportunities to develop as leaders and shape our community. If this year you took up the opportunity of running in elections, became a committee member or a student volunteer, how has that process been like for you?
- Has this contributed positively to your personal development?
- Has KCLSU provided you with sufficient resources and support?
Advice and Wellbeing
KCLSU’s advice service offers non-academic and academic support, while the Wellbeing team has been working throughout this year to host weekly staples like Time Out Hubs. We would love to know if you’re aware of these services, and more generally how you’ve felt during your time at King’s.
KCLSU Commercial Venues and Branding
From venues like the Shack, Guy’s Bar to the Union Shop, KCLSU aims to offer competitively priced and valued products to everyone on campus – all made distinct with our signature branding! We would love to know what you think about our venues’ safety, prices, products and our design choices.
We hope this has helped get the gears moving a little and you are now ready to complete this year’s student survey. You can find the survey HERE! Oh, and once you’re done, head to your nearest hub desk to get your voucher for a FREE small hot drink from the Shack or Guy’s Café.
