Hi all,
My name is Heena Ramchandani, I am a MA Political Economy student and now your new Vice President Postgraduate! I am looking forward to interacting with and representing all my fellow postgraduate peers. A few exciting projects I aim to work on this academic year are:
Improving career education and prospects specifically for PG students
This I believe is extremely important as PGT students specifically lack support in this area. My time as a student at King’s I was constantly in search of different opportunities for work and some guidance on future career pathways so this is something I am passionate on improving for current and upcoming students.
Increasing social engagement and inter-departmental and inter-university networking opportunities
This is key for PG students as networking opportunities are usually catered towards undergraduate students. The PG community is an extremely diverse group and it is important to be able to create events and opportunities that suit their specific needs.
Being in the role I am, I have an opportunity to enhance the postgraduate student experience extensively just by focusing on these two main aims. With the high level of financial investment being put in by PG students, it is important they receive a world class education alongside career support and social activities to foster overall personal development.
