Many of you will have seen the recent escalation of violence and instability across parts of the Middle East.
We recognise that events like this can be deeply upsetting, especially for students who have personal, family, cultural or community connections to the region. For many in our community, global events can feel very close to home.
As your KCLSU Student Officers, we want to acknowledge that impact and remind you that support is available. Your wellbeing is important, and you do not have to navigate this alone.
We are also aware that some students may currently be in the region, travelling through it, or experiencing disruption to travel plans. If you are affected in this way, please follow the safety and travel guidance issued by local authorities and relevant government agencies in the country you are in. If the situation affects your ability to attend classes, placements, exams or deadlines, please let your department and King’s Student Services know as soon as possible so they can support you.
Support available:
If you are worried about a friend or course mate, you can also use these same support routes to get guidance on how best to help them.
We know members of our community will be affected in different ways. We encourage everyone to look out for one another and to approach conversations with care, respect and compassion.
Please take care of yourselves and each other.
