The second day of Student Volunteering Week brought students together across campus to explore new opportunities, connect with local organisations, and start building their own volunteering ideas.
King’s Volunteering Fair comes to Bush House
The King’s Volunteering Service brought a wide range of charities and community organisations to The Studio at Bush House, giving students the chance to explore volunteering opportunities and sign up on the spot. The KCLSU Volunteering team were also there to share how students can start their own volunteering projects, with support available to help turn ideas into action.
Missed the fair? You still have time. The King’s Volunteering Fair will be at Guy’s Campus (AR4) tomorrow from 12 to 3. Come and say hello, we will be easy to spot in our orange t-shirts.
Coffee Chats
Students also had the chance to grab a free coffee and chat one-to-one with volunteer coordinators. These short sessions helped students explore their interests, develop ideas, and get practical guidance on how to begin their volunteering journey.
Build Your Impact: Biosciences Student Association
The Biosciences Student Association hosted a volunteering design workshop aimed at helping students develop and plan impactful initiatives. Participants explored different volunteering pathways, including hands-on projects, fundraising, and educational activities, while learning about event planning, ethics, and implementation. A big thank you to everyone who took part and made the session a success.
Student Spotlight: Making an Impact
Day 2 also highlighted student voices, showcasing how volunteering can grow naturally from the things you already love doing. From creative projects to community-led initiatives, students shared inspiring examples of turning personal passions into meaningful impact. Read more about how anyone can get involved in volunteering simply by continuing to do what they love.
