The third day of Student Volunteering Week focused on leadership, creativity, and celebrating the impact student volunteers are making across our communities. From learning how to lead successful projects to hands-on activities and inspiring showcases, students explored different ways to turn ideas into meaningful action.
Knitathon for Good
Students came together to knit and crochet items for children in Syria and for end-of-life patients. The session offered a relaxed and welcoming environment, giving students the chance to contribute to a meaningful cause while connecting with others and learning new skills.
A Project Lead’s Guide to Making an Impact: Ashton Neo
Day three featured a blog spotlight on Ashton Neo, exploring his journey as a project lead and the lessons behind building a successful and impactful student-led initiative. The article highlighted his approach to leadership, collaboration, and overcoming challenges, offering insight into how thoughtful planning and persistence can transform ideas into impact.
The King’s Volunteering Fair: Guy’s Campus
Following the success of the Bush House event, the King’s Volunteering Fair also arrived at Guy’s Campus, bringing charities and community organisations directly to students. Attendees had the opportunity to explore volunteering roles, meet organisations face-to-face, and discover new ways to get involved. The fair continued to support students in taking their first steps into volunteering or expanding their existing involvement.
Volunteer Showcase: Celebrating Student Impact
The day concluded with a Volunteer Showcase celebrating the incredible work of student volunteers. Participants presented their projects, shared their experiences, and reflected on the impact they have made within their communities. The showcase provided a space to recognise achievements, inspire others, and highlight the diverse ways students are driving positive change through volunteering.
