We’re thrilled to share that our KCLSU venues – The Vault & Guy’s Bar – have been awarded Best Bar None Gold Accreditation for the third time in a row at the recent NUS trading conference!
The process of earning accreditation includes a visit from an NUS assessor, who checks that our venues have the necessary policies and procedures in place to ensure safety, good management, and a welcoming environment for our members - YOU, the students.
We'd like to send a big shoutout to our KCLSU Commercial Team and everyone working super hard to make sure our venues are safe and friendly for everyone!

The Best Bar None Gold Accreditation is the highest level of accreditation awarded within the Best Bar None (BBN) scheme. This national, Home Office‑backed programme promotes the responsible management and safe operation of licensed premises, such as bars, pubs, clubs or hospitality venues in the UK.
What Does "Gold Accreditation" Mean?
Benchmark of excellence: To be awarded Gold, a venue must meet all mandatory criteria and score highly on additional criteria. These standards are assessed across four core areas: Venue Management, Staff Training & Care, Customer Safety & Welfare, and Community & Customer Service.
Best-in-class recognition: Venues achieving Gold status are considered exceptional performers within the Best Bar None scheme. They often receive public recognition through regional and national awards, sometimes at prestigious ceremonies such as those held at the House of Lords.
One-year validity: Gold Accreditation is valid for a period of 12 months. Venues must reapply and be reassessed annually to maintain their Gold status. KCLSU has retained the gold accreditation for the third time in a row!
