Hi everyone!
So I guess by now you may have seen some of our manifesto points, and surely I had a massive list myself. This also means that I had to be realistic with what I could or could not do. Some of my wishes also increased from engaging with other Student Officers across London and across the country. We, as an Officer team, have been to various events, such as Wonkhe SUs: Start 2019, held the London Students' Union Conference at KCLSU, went to NUS Lead and Change and I got the chance to go to the National Postgraduate Conference 2019 by GSA York.
Basically, the first month was full of networking and traveling all around the UK. This also means that I met a lot of new Officers, that now I am on my way to collaborating with some of them hint hint.
Work-wise, I am in the process of planning a lot for the coming year, which I am really excited about. One of the projects has already started, with regards to Postgraduate Mental Health initiatives where I and some of my colleagues have interviewed some Postgraduate students to understand their experiences and issues they have encountered in their course, which will be then taken into action and consideration. I also have some events coming up, which have been requested by students so keep an eye for those too.
One of these events is the Postgraduate Board Games Evening on Friday 11 October at The Shack in collaboration with the KCL Board Game and Tabletop society. Pop in to play a round of your favourite game and meet other Postgraduate students over a round of your favourite game and some snacks and drinks. Find out some more info about the event here.
This is just the start, so keep an eye out on my page or social media to find out more about what I am up to!
