What positions can you run for?

Student Officers

The Student Officer team is made up of the President and five Vice Presidents (VPs). The Officers are full-time, elected representatives and trustees. They decide and lead campaigns, and inform the direction of the whole organisation. The President is the chair of the board, representing the whole student-body and holding the Chief Executive of KCLSU to account. They also represent KCLSU at the NUS National Conference and the King’s College London Council.

The five VPs are all responsible for different areas: Education (Health), Education (Arts and Sciences), Postgraduate, Welfare & Community, and Activities and Development. The VPs all sit on the board as well, helping shape the direction of KCLSU. The VP Education (Health) and (Arts and Sciences) represent students from their respective faculties, and must be students in the faculty to run. The VP Postgraduate represents postgraduate students and works to develop their student life. The VP Welfare and Community is responsible for developing student wellbeing and working with underrepresented groups. The VP Activities and Development works to develop student activities, societies and sports. All VPs create a manifesto, with individual pledges related to the area they are standing for.

Academic Associations Committee Member

Those elected into these positions act as representatives for important groups within King's such as biomedical students, medical students, law students and many others. Each Academic Associations leaders advocate for their peers' needs, campaign for change, and engage and build a community and a sense of belonging amongst their specific group.

NUS Delegate

The NUS Delegate represents KCLSU at the NUS. They discuss and vote on motions to decide NUS policy, hear from NUS officers, and update the King’s community following the NUS conference. At the conference, they will convey King's students' views on a national scale as they talk about policies that will affect students' unions up and down the country.
