Student Council met 28 Thursday in Denmark Hill’s Weston Education Centre.
Two motions sparked intense debate throughout the meeting. A motion to ban Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’ was passed with a majority of 16 votes. The motion condemns the song and prevents it from being played by KCLSU in any KCLSU spaces.
The second motion debated pushes for greater KCLSU support for liberation groups. This motion passed with a majority of 21 votes.
Student Council still has an opening for Postgraduate Research Representative. So, if you are a PGR student, please nominate yourself by emailing representation@kclsu.org or attending the next meeting. Get involved and make a difference!
The next Student Council is meeting on 12 December at Franklin-Wilkins Building, G.73, Waterloo Campus. All students are encouraged to attend!
